Robert E. Bomar

()Bob Bomar built and owned Bomar Field that became Shelbyville Municipal Airport. In 1953 Gov. Clement appointed Mr. Bomar to save the State Bureau of Aeronautics. During his Chairmanship of the Tennessee Aeronautics Commission 1953-1968, fifty airports were constructed across Tennessee.
